Our interpretation of Reportage Photography is capturing those moments that make the event special. It is designed around taking informal, ad-hoc, and sometimes humourous, pictures of the event, capturing the feelings and atmosphere which bring the event to life. The photographs are not designed to be the formal pictures usually associated with such events, but more to capture the memories of the day. To ensure that the special day is captured completely. The informal ad-hoc shots can be suplemented by more posed shots.
To capture the whole event, the photographer may attend before the actual event itself. For example, for a wedding they may accompany the bride and bridesmaids to the hairdressers. During the event/wedding the photographer blends in with the guests to try and capture the moments when people are off guard. This is achieved using numerious technics, such as zoom lenses and smaller cameras. Most of the pictures are captured using digital technology, however the posed shots can be taken with standard colour and/or black and white film.
